The week is finally ending and the weather couldn't be better. Yay! I have a few things to share:

LOVE this nursery...

Books galore! Bookshelf love. (via)

Want. this. now. (via)

Chalkboard wall calendar! (via

And of course something owl-y:

I *really* would love to make this, but who am I kidding... If any of you make it, don't forget to send me one :)

Hey, did you notice the grey theme of today's post. Hmmm... interesting. Hope you have a great weekend!

bookshelf love

It's cold and snowing and I really should be cuddling up with a book... I'm reading Freedom (by Franzen) right now and want to finish it already. So little time, so many books :)

Today I'm sharing some of the latest shelve images I've collected. Aren't these grand? Any of these would be fabulous...

This one is a little too OCD for me, but admirable. (via)

Darkly dreamy. Very appealing. (via)

Happy reading...

recreate: what's old is new again

Katie Thompson loves creating functional art from discarded junk. She recreates one-of-a-kind accessories and furniture out of antique or vintage finds!

The Hoover Lamp

Garden Sieve Pin Board

The Milk Pail Stools

The Suitcase Chair

This chair is my fav! The colors would totally work in my house. Kudos to Katie from REcreate in South Africa for upcycling and creating fun, new wares!

craft room ideas

This is how my craft closet looks when it has exploded onto my dining table. Not pretty.
And here are some 'after' shots... Kidding. Only in my dreams! I need help.

Ahhhh... aren't these amazing. This last one is my favorite. I like the tall table and stools. Though the pink nook above is best when you don't have a whole room to dedicate to your craftiness. These rooms are truly inspiring and perhaps, something to look forward to. :)

Do you have a craft space? Got any tips? Do tell.

organizing ideas

I have stuff. Probably more than I should. But I KNOW I would feel much better about it if it remains neat an organized. That's what I strive for. So, I am always on the look out for things that would make my life easier (and my hubs happier- hee hee). These are some recent finds...

And some stuff won't necessarily help you keep things neat, they just look neat (as in awesome):

wonder wall

Do you have a wall in your house that's just...blank? Empty? In need of some lovin'? I'm partial to minimalistic interiors— wait, who am I kidding. If it weren't for a certain someone I live with, I'd probably have stuff hanging from every corner of my house. In a neat, "orderly disarray" kind of fashion, of course ;) Anyway... no matter what, I think you'd appreciate some of these great ideas to fill up that vertical void.

Aren't these fabulous? Ready to grab your hammer and nails and perk up that space? Do tell.

is that a house in your coffee or are you just happy to see me?

Look at the FUN mini gingerbread houses that Megan from notmartha.org made. Doesn't it make you feel all cozy and warm inside. I'm definitley going to try my hand at these. Soon. Visit her site for a nice how-to.

Though I must tell you, I would definitely cook/bake more if I enjoyed my kitchen. It's roomy, and bright, has TWO ovens, but it's missing.... something. Maybe a center island or more counter space. Oh well. It will have to do, right? Here are some dreamy kitchens to carry me through the weekend.

You like? What's missing in your kitchen? -- And don't say a personal chef ;)

freaky friday

Nothing is deliciously freaky like trompe l'oeil. Here is the work of British artist Charlotte Mann. Isn't she amazing?

She works at scale (life size) and creates rooms and rooms of amazing scenes on pure white walls (and floors!) with just a big fat black marker!

You can see more of her work on her site here. Are you going to get out your sharpie this weekend and get freaky with your walls?

viva von furstenberg

Diane Von Furstenberg was featured in the September issue of InStyle magazine and when I saw her library at her Connecticut home, Cloudwalk, I just about died! As a lover of books, my wish is to have a grand, beautiful library... be surrounded by bounds and bounds of books!

As I was looking for more pictures of her home, I came across her other abodes. Her Paris apartment is très fabulous and what does she have all around? Books!

I found this image of her New York City place and, again, more books.  Besides being the queen of the wrap dress and overall style diva, DVF is one cool bookworm (assuming she actually reads, lol).

For more fantastic libraries and fabulous bookshelves, check out isuwannee.com. She keeps a lovely list of killer book spaces with her Bookcase of the Day.
