amazing cakes, how sweet...

Happy day-after Monday ;) I had a nice and relaxing looong weekend-- spent mostly eating. Nothing wrong with that, right? In honor of yumminess, here are some great cakes I think you'd enjoy:

color me pretty

It's is gray outside, but it's yet to ruin my mood. I don't feel gray inside. Hey, that reminds me of that song, "Unlovable", by The Smiths: "I wear black on the outside, 'cause black is how I feel on the inside"... Anyway, here's this neat 'colorscochart by Paper Source. It showcases their colors and the mood/meaning of each. Which color are you? (click to enlarge)

I don't know what color I 'am'. I love purples and black and grey. But not sure if they describe me. I'd be interested in knowing what people who know me think is my color. Do tell :)

Happy Thursday!

happy new year!

I hope everyone had a great holiday. I am back to blogging now after spending time with family and friends. So, it's 2011. I wish I had resolutions or goals or some such ideals for this new year. But I don't. I'm not a big planner. I'm usually a last minute kind of person. If I do have something that is coming up or scheduled, I either over-dwell on it (which is uncomfortably annoying) or I forget it altogether. Oops. Anyway... I like not knowing what's going to happen next. I like surprises-- though I've yet to be truly surprised (to my husband's chagrin).

Today I'm sharing some balloon images. They just make me smile. I like them filled with helium. I don't do this enough. (I usually blow them up myself for the kids' parties.) And I definitely prefer them outdoors. Where they are free. I actually like to see them fly away. That's the BEST part ever! It's so beautiful how they slowly fly away to an unknown place, hopeful and colorfully happy... That's how I want to be this coming year, like a runaway balloon :)

color-full

Z had to wear all the colors of the rainbow today to her kindergarten class. She had no problem putting them all together. I, on the other hand, have been told I need to turn it up a notch and add some color to my life. It is true that I prefer the dark and somber hues of Fall. So I've been thinking about it a bit and I've decided that I do love vibrant jewel tones. Ruby and emerald and aquamarine are rich and happy colors. Here are some very colorific ideas...

By far, I think this color combination below is my favorite. This color/mood board is fabulous. Mind you, I will most likely never wear these together, but I do love purple and I am partial to teal. The kiddies and hubs have mentioned a few times that Teal is my color (when I wear the ONE sweater I have in this shade). And remember my post on blue hair?

How do you express or bring color to your life? Do you mix it up or stick to the tried and true?

TGIF! Have a great weekend.

colorific

Happy Monday. Some people have a hard time equating happy with Monday, but to help maybe we can talk about color!!! I got this video link from the hubs and it made my day.

And just because... I went on a rainbow hunt and found an eyeful :)

How about that rainbow? It was handmade with 5000 Pantone color chips glued onto wood boards!! Why/how, do you ask? More here.

This colorful loft is just so cozy and homey. You can see more of it here. I love it.

But for some people colorful homes are just not enough. Meet Jessi Arrington from luckysoandso.com. She blogs all about her color obsession and posts her bright thrift shop outfits. Very cool.

What do you think of these water bottles? They come in gorgeous colors and are BPA-free, foldable, freezable, reusable AND dishwasher safe. Nice!!

If you were suffering from the Monday blues, I hope that adding red, yellow, purple, pink and some other bunches of color made you feel much, much better. xoxo
