spring stylin'
Wasn't the weather yesterday great? It totally got me in the mood for Spring. I got a pedi and all-- prepping for airy, strappy shoes. I also did a little window shopping (or should I see browser-window shopping). Here are some fab finds:
So, it's probably still too cold for shorts, but I like these because you can dress them up or down. And this dress below is just so feminine. Not sure I can pull it off. But it's dreamy:
This is more like what I would wear on a casual weekend stroll:
Though I'd be real tempted to change the red flats for these sexy peep-to heels:
And because it's about Paris, here is this handy little list of Ten Ways to Dress Like a Parisian:
This image comes from an upcoming book called Parisian Chic
by Ines de la Fressange. A must buy!
Hope you have a fabulous Friday!

spring flowers
If you've been to the mall lately you've seen signs of spring in just about every shop. Flower prints are everywhere...
I'm not the girly girl type, but I do want to get my hands on a few tops or dresses and then 'bell' it up with, maybe, a leather jacket and/or funky shoes. What do you think of this last one? I LOVE it.
Can you do the flower thing?

I can't help it that I favor the black/monotone ones. I have a hard time with color ;)

i heart fink
Not much to say today except, I want, want want: Fink. They are a cool shop on Etsy created by two ladies -- Karen (in Brooklyn) & Kristen (in New Mexico). They make one-of-a-kind hand made clothing and accessories "with casual glamour & vintage flair".
From an Etsy interview:
We make each item from scratch using fabric we screen print by hand with our original art. The items you see listed on Etsy are our original designs and the first of their kind – wearable art straight from our design studios to your home....We use fabrics that do not fray and the raw edges hold up well with time...we know this because we wear our own designs and still wear pieces we made several years ago!
These clothes are totally me. I love them.... Happy Friday!

the sartorialist - visual fashion commentator
On occasion I go to The Sartorialist to see what regular [read: fashionable] people are wearing out on the streets. That's what Scott Schuman does. He photographs men and women all over the world that visually interests him and he posts his pics online. He (and his blog) is "one of Time Magazine's top 100 Design Influencers."
Intel recently documented Schuman for their Visual Life campaign:
Interesting, no? Ahhhh... to travel the world and take lovely pictures of pretty people....
Happy Monday!

hush... and lounge the day away
Doesn't the freezing weather just make you want to stay in your pajamas all day? We can't really have that now, can we? Can we? Well, in comes HUSH. They are a U.K.-based company that makes great nightwear and loungewear that is très à la mode!
I particularly love their loungewear. I'm not one to hang out in my sweats-- ever. I enjoy comfortable yet presentable attire :) Here are some of my favorite looks:
Aha, I'm loving it... hee hee. Hush's nightwear is nice too. I'd answer the door in their PJs! You can see more of Hush clothing on their site.

tee + ruffles = pret-tee
Here's a great tutorial from Robin at All Things Heart & Home. This altered tee is so cute and quite easy to make. Check it out:
What do you think? Pretty doable right? She used two cheap t-shirt. One to cut and one to adorn :) You can visit her blog post here. Happy sewing!

mandinka
I am all about mandinka. I absolutely ♥ their clothes. These designers from Tel Aviv create clothes that are modern AND wearable. I'm drooling over their Fall 2011 looks.
I don't think I can get any of their pieces here in the States, but at least I have some inspiration... You can see the rest of the collection on their site here.

fanciful photography: tim walker
I was looking though the latest Anthropologie catalog and was admiring the whimsical photography. It reminded me of some really great photos I have seen in Vogue. Specifically, the work of Tim Walker. Now, his work is amazing!
What do you think? Walker is a London-based photographer whose extravagant settings and magical images are very popular in the Fashion photography world.
You can see more of his fantastically eccentric work here and here. And here's a fun picture of the photographer himself:
Happy Tuesday! xo
